Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal
Secretary To The State Government
Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal is a respected public servant and experienced politician who served as the Secretary of the ruling People’s Redemption Party in Kaduna during the tenure of Balarabe Musa as Governor of Kaduna. He worked as a lecturer at the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Zaria and at the Administrative College of Nigeria in Badagry, Lagos State. He has also worked within the private sector as the Managing Director of Right Edge Property Nigeria Limited.
He served as the Chief of Staff of Governor Nasir El-Rufai from 2003 to 2007, during his reformist tenure as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. He worked as the Director of the General Purpose Committee of the Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s campaign organization and kept the same position as the Director of the General Purpose Committee of the APC Campaign Council in Kaduna. He was the Chairman of the Transition Committee.
The SSG played a major role in the radical reforms that were initiated to transform the capital city of Nigeria. He was also an integral part of the APC’s victory in the recently concluded elections. His relationship with Governor Nasir El-Rufai goes back to their days as university students in the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU). The SSG also has four Permanent Secretaries under his office. These include; the Permanent Secretaries of the Political & Economic Affairs, Cabinet & Security Services, General Services and Interfaith.
